Wavy hair as per the fashion experts is the latest fashion style this season and will continue to be so till the beginning of next year. If you still want to change your currently fashionable hair texture and make it appear straight and silky, there are certain hair care tips by which you can achieve this. One thing you must remember is that hair consists of the hair shaft and the follicles that are attached to the scalp. The texture remains moderately the same throughout one's lifetime, but regular care can alter the texture and improve it immensely. Hot oil messages and protein treatments are a way of first improving the texture of hair to make it thicker and lustrous. Warm 2 tsp. of olive oil and 2 tsp. coconut oil with one egg mixed together and gently massage the mixture on your scalp for 10-15 minutes. Rinse a towel in hot water, wipe and then wind the hair around the head as the towel cools down. Repeat this homemade 'sauna treatment' for the hair 2 to 3 times. Once the mixture has been fully absorbed, leave it on for half an hour as the scalp takes half an hour to soak as much of oil as is required. After that, wash your hair with a mild shampoo with maximum two 'rinse and repeat' applications. You must always remember that excessive shampooing of the hair without the use of proper conditioner causes dryness of the scalp leading to itchiness and dandruff in some cases.

Henna is an excellent and natural hair care conditioner and also makes the hair texture straighter. This is usually available in powder form in a herbal product. First you must mix the henna with water and beat one egg into it. Mix it thoroughly and soak the concoction overnight preferably in an iron vessel. The next day, apply any oil such as coconut or olive oil into your scalp and massage it thoroughly. Apply the henna and egg-mix into your hair including the scalp and roots; and leave it for one hour. As henna hardens when it cools, you don't have to worry as it can be easily washed off. After washing, take a pea-sized amount of olive oil and rub your hands together. Smooth it on the ends to tame flyways and give your hair a nice sheen. You can also boil some tea leaves in a cup and leave it to cool. Once the tea leaves have been sieved and discarded, use the tea water after your hair has been rinsed to use it as the last wash instead of water. Do not rinse your hair after washing it with tea water. Let it dry naturally. Tea water gives excellent shine to hair. Permanent straightening of hair like Japanese 'extenso' treatments gives immediate results for desiring straight hair. But the chemicals used in these treatments damage hair follicles in the long run. Therefore, it is preferable to keep hair as chemical free as possible. You must remember that there is nothing more attractive than to have healthy, shiny and bouncy hair irrespective of the texture.
