Dry Skin Cream

There is a vast variety of creams available for dry skin over the counter in all beauty shops, general stores as well as pharmacies. While the cream you choose would depend largely upon the degree of dryness of the skin, you must make sure that there are certain basic elements present in the cream you buy. For this, you would have to check the label of contents, and you will be able to see the contents of the cream you are buying. Among the basic ingredients that any cream of dry skin should have is petroleum jelly. Petroleum jelly is the substance that will replenish moisture to dryness and will also keep the dryness within, not allowing it to get out.

For extremely dry skin, the cream you should buy must contain lanolin. This is one of the richest natural products that aids in keeping skin moisturized. It has a unique quality – it is waterproof, and does not allow moisture to escape once it has been sealed into your skin. For most part, it is a gentle substance that also does not react adversely in any way with most skin types. It is specially used in products for babies and children, thus telling you exactly how harmless it is.
