Dry Skin Lotion Instead of hunting for a suitable lotion for dry skin, it would be more advisable for you to make one at home with simple ingredients easily available at home. You can make this fresh every week and use it for excellent results. Always use an olive oil base for making lotions, as olive oil is the best product to apply topically for any kind of skin ailment. For dry skin in particular, olive oil will have a healing effect, so make sure you use it. You can make a lotion with equal parts of olive oil and whole milk, and add a few rose petals to it. Try to pick petals from roses that have a strong musky smell, as this will camouflage the smell of milk and oil. The two basic ingredients have to be blended together till they are well mixed and then the rose petals are to be added. Use this as you would a normal lotion. It will not only help with regular care of dry skin, it will also help to heal.
You can also make a lotion with a base of olive and jojoba oil, to which you can add essence of sandalwood. This may turn out to be a bit expensive, but it will work very well for dry skin. This can be stored for up to six months. As a matter of fact, the longer it is stored, the better it will work on your skin.
