Everybody likes to show off thick lustrous hair. The texture of our hair to a large extent depends on genetic factors. But external factors such as pollution, dust, stress, chemicals can all have a negative effect on the hair making it look dull, thin and lifeless. Here are some home remedies that you can try out, to increase the length and the thickness of your hair. Mix together the white of an egg and 1/ a cup of yogurt. Apply the mixture on the scalp and hair as well. Make sure to cover the hair to the tips. Let this application stay on for 20-30 minutes, after which rinse it off with lukewarm water. You could also use diluted apple cider vinegar as a final rinse on the hair.

Another very useful remedy would be the use of date seeds. Take a tablespoon of date seeds and grind them into a coarse powder. Now add this to the white of one egg. Apply the mixture of the two onto the scalp and hair and let it stay for about 20-30 minutes, after which rinse it off thoroughly with warm water. Warm castor oil if massaged into the hair 1-2 times a week, will also help in improving the texture and volume of your hair. Instead of castor oil one could use lavender oil or almond oil in the same manner. It will be equally beneficial for adding thickness to the hair. Rinsing your hair with flat beer will add bounce and shine to the hair.

Black pepper and lemon seeds are also known to be good for adding volume and length to the hair. Take a teaspoon each of lemon seeds (finely ground) and black pepper (powdered). Add a few drops of olive oil too make a thick paste. Now apply this paste onto the scalp and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Thereafter, rinse off the mixture with some lukewarm water. Do not over comb your hair, instead combing it once or twice a day for a few minutes would suffice. Vitamin A is very good for the hair; it will help strengthen it from within. Thus, increase your intake of vitamin A. Foods that are a good source of it are hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, pumpkin seeds, avocado, broccoli, peas, spinach, peaches, watermelons, tomatoes and oranges. Keep you hair moisturized internally, by drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water a day.
