Also, consume plenty of water to ensure an adequate supply of moisture to the skin. It is important to refrain from using hot water while washing the face or taking a bath. Dry the skin by gently patting dry, rather than rubbing. Use mild soaps and facial cleansers that are free of chemical content. Moisturize regularly, especially after taking a bath. Select a moisturizer that is specially made for dry skin. Besides store bought moisturizers, there are also tons of natural ways to moisturize the skin and you may benefit from these. Herbal oils are very effective in moisturizing the skin and can be massaged into the skin daily. You can also apply some coconut oil to the skin to keep it soft and supple.
A paste of banana, papaya and avocado is known to be helpful in treating skin dryness. You can also massage the skin with a paste of egg yolk, honey and milk powder. This can be applied and then washed off after it dries. Cucumber is very hydrating for the skin and the juice of cucumber may be applied to the dry areas of the skin. Honey is an extremely beneficial natural remedy that works wonders on the skin. Honey can be mixed with rose water and applied to moisturize the skin and make it appear soft and glowing.
