Health advice on Brown Skin Spots
Brown Skin Spots are formed due to friction, pressure, damage, injury, trauma, sun exposure, topical & oral medications & hormonal changes. Melanocytes are melanin producing cells which are responsible for skin pigmentation or skin color. If this cell dies then the skin tone becomes lighter giving birth to a white patch. On the other hand, an overactive cell makes the skin tone darker than normal color. Brown Skin Spots develop due to the latter reason.
Brown skin spots are of various types. To determine the exact nature, type & cause consult a dermatologist. Freckles or ephelids, melasma, lentigo or lentigines, moles & seborrheic keratoses are some types of Brown Skin Spots. Liver spots, age spots & sun spots are some commonly used terms.
This pigmentation or coloration can be cured naturally by the body itself, it cannot be removed medically. Thus, this coloration once formed may become permanent if natural or alternative remedies are not used to ensure that melanin is restored to its normal level in the darkened area & the skin tone is lightened. Regular application of sunscreen lotion or cream, use of anti-aging cream which may contain vitamin C, retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids & azelaic acids & treatment with chemical peels, pigment lasers or cryotherapy may remove & cure Brown Skin Spots rapidly & effectively.
