Home remedies for Brown Skin Discoloration

Freckles, age spots, liver spots or melasma (pregnancy mask) are forms of Brown Skin Discoloration. They are formed on sun exposed areas like hands, face, chest, back & neck. Accumulation of the skin pigment melanin is the cause of skin discoloration. This pigment is continuously produced by the skin. The amount of melanin present in a particular type will determine its coloration. Women & men both are susceptible to development of Brown Skin Discoloration. In response to sun exposure, the body produces melanin. It protects the body by absorbing the harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun.

Regular applications of sunscreen or anti-aging creams or lotions, skin lightening or peeling are some methods to protect the upper layer of your skin. Overproduction of melanin will render your skin discolored. So, it is important to consistently treat your skin to maintain its texture & complexion.

Lactic acid in sour milk has gentle peeling effect without causing dryness or irritation to your skin. Wash your face with it regularly. Apply lemon juice to your skin everyday. It acts as a natural bleaching agent. Increase your intake of vitamin C (found in apples, citrus fruits & green onions) as it helps in reducing the sensitivity to sun.
