Information on Effects Of Aging On Skin

Skin is an apparent part of our body where the changes taking place in our bodies with aging can be easily seen. Development of fine lines & wrinkles make us look more aged & tired. It also affects skin health. There are several effects of aging on our skin.

Your skin has become rough with the aging process. It is part of the natural changes occurring in your body with your increasing age. Sometimes, the skin may become prone to developing benign tumors or lesions. Your skin is sagging due to loss of elastic tissue called elastin & collagen. The skin becomes slack as thinning of the epidermis (surface layer of the skin) occurs. This makes the skin transparent & prone to injury or damage. Dermis is the layer of skin under epidermis & the area where these two layers meet flattens due to aging. This causes fragility which keeps increasing with aging. The blood vessel walls of the skin also become thin causing the skin to bruise easily.

The harmful effects of overexposure to sun can easily be seen with aging. Be careful of this. The damage of elastin is due to the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays of the sun. You might experience loss of fat below the skin of chin, nose, temples, eyes & cheeks giving the face a 'skeletal' look. It is important to protect your skin from sun, cleanse it regularly & follow Anti Aging Skin Care routine.
