If you are suffering from hair fall due to acute dandruff, the first thing you need to do is eliminate the dandruff. Chances are that the hair fall will take care of itself following that. Dandruff occurs due to a variety of reasons. It can come with dry skin, due to a scalp infection of some sort which was never fully cured or just plain unhygienic habits. The best part about it, is that with diligence it can be gotten rid of quite easily. To start off, you can add a few drops of tea tree oil the shampoo you regularly use and continue using it as you normally would. The ratio should be three drops of oil per 100 grams of shampoo to begin with. Try this for a week, and if it does not work, increase the quantity of oil by a drop each week till it starts working. Do not exceed 10 drops, as it can damage your skin if you add too much of oil.

Lime juice is also a highly effective way of getting rid of dandruff. You can simply cut a lime in half and scrub your scalp with one half vigorously. Leave this juice on in your hair and scalp till it dries and then wash it off. Do not be alarmed if your scalp starts scratching - this is a common side effect of lime juice and is a clear indicator that the juice is working to remove the dandruff and dirt. Avoid doing this more than once a week as excessive use of lime juice may cause your hair to start whitening prematurely. Lime juice is one of the most powerful bleaching agents available in nature and can have this effect.

In order to take care of hair fall, half your problem will be solved with the effective removal of dandruff. If you continue to have falling hair, you can start applying castor oil to it once a week. Though this is a very viscous oil, it helps tremendously in strengthening the hair by the roots. Do not try to massage it in - that may not work at all. Just apply it to your scalp and leave it for a couple of hours at least, or overnight at most. Wash off with your regular shampoo. This may take about three to six months to show results, so do not lose patience. You can also apply almond oil to your scalp once a week.
