My friend has Squamous Cell Skin Cancer. What is this? Is it serious?

Causes and Treatment for Squamous Cell Skin Cancer
Squamous cell carcinoma is the medical term used to describe the kind of cancer your friend has. This shows up on the skin as uneven, reddish brown bumps that may or may not have a shiny pearly texture. This kind of skin cancer is not too difficult to spot, and it falls well within the realm of completely curable. It is caused mostly due to over exposure to the sun and is therefore quite commonly spotted on the face or hands. It is important for you to know that this kind of cancer may also be contracted from overuse of tanning booths and places where you can acquire an artificial sun tan. There are, however, other reasons for this as well. These include exposure to certain toxic chemicals and high degrees of radiation. This can also cause squamous skin cancer.
All kinds of cancer, no matter how mild or quickly detected, are always serious. If not treated well and effectively, they can cause serious damage in the very least and can be fatal at most. This is the reason it is important for your friend to seek proper medical advice and guidance as soon as possible and bring his or her disease under control by beginning treatment.
