Types of Skin Cancer  Post answer

The first type of skin cancer that is rampant in human beings is called squamous cell carcinoma (cancer). This will be visible in the human body as upraised and irregular red bumpy surfaces on the skin. It affects parts of the body that are most exposed to the sun, and therefore occurs quite commonly on the face and hands and feet. But it can also appear in spaces such as the gap between toes and the insides of the palms. This is very different from the second type of skin cancer, which is known as basal cell carcinoma. This type will change the color of the skin, but it will not really appear as bumpy and uneven spots. This tends to appear to change color underneath the skin. It is also pearly to feel, unlike the bumps that appear due to squamous cell carcinoma.

The third category of skin cancer is known as malignant melanoma. This is the deadliest kind of cancer, since it is impossible to check its growth and spread once it takes firm root. It is also the one that takes most lives. Melanoma spreads through melanin, which is the natural pigmentation of the skin, so it usually takes root close to a dark spot such as a mole or a deep tan and spreads rapidly from there, thus making it difficult to diagnose sometimes.
