Information on Carcinoma Cancer
Carcinoma is the medical term used for cancer. They both essentially mean the same thing. But this term is not restricted to the use of skin cancer alone, though it is commonly used only in that context. There are various kinds of skin cancers that can affect the human skin. The commonest of these are basal cell skin cancer, which is the most commonly found type of cancer in human beings. This is the simplest manifestation of the disease and is also curable, especially since it is easily diagnosed in the early stages of the disease. The other type of skin cancer is squamous cell skin cancer, which is the second most commonly found cancer in human beings. This is also not the kind of cancer that usually takes lives since it does not spread rampantly on its own and is curable once detected.
The third type of cancer is melanoma, which is difficult to diagnose and spreads quite rampantly once it has taken root. This is the kind of cancer that claims most lives and is also considered to be the most dangerous and deadly type. There are also some varieties of rare skin cancers that affect people, known as Merkel cell carcinoma and Kaposi's sarcoma.
