Dry Skin Soap Dry skin is particularly susceptible to various skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis. You can use a mild anti bacterial or anti fungal soap. Make sure that you use a soap that contains a higher percentage of glycerine to ensure problem free healthy skin.
There are also various recipes for making your own soap at home. The most commonly used ingredients in homemade soaps are carrier oils, lye, water, herbs ad petals, glycerine based colorants and essential oils and fragrances. Most cosmetic soaps available in the market contain various chemicals, which are used to colour and perfume the soap. Home made soaps have the added advantage of being free of any such artificial colorants and scents.
During bouts of extreme weather, use a moisturising body scrub made from two table spoons of gram flour, half a cup of coconut milk, three tea spoons of honey, a tea spoon of pure clarified butter, and five table spoons of sugar. You can also add a few drops of lemon to the mixture. Use this scrub to gently exfoliate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. Make sure that you do not wash the scrub off immediately, but instead let it soak into your skin for at least half an hour, before having a cold shower.
After your bath make sure that you use a moisturising lotion to keep your skin well hydrated, soft and supple. I suggest that you massage your limbs with coconut oil at least once a week. Coconut oil helps to nourish and moisturise your skin, and is very effective in the prevention of dry skin diseases.
