Dry Skin Creams As with almost all beauty products readily available in the market, most contain chemicals and are not the best thing for your skin. Try using natural products or homemade creams and applications. Unlike cosmetic products available in stores these do not have side effects and can go a long way to improving the health of your skin. In addition to using creams, try to avoid using harsh cosmetic soaps readily available, and try to use soaps that have a high glycerin content.
One of the easiest and effective homemade creams has just two basic ingredients; lanolin and cocoa butter. Take an equal proportion of lanolin and cocoa butter. Mix both ingredients, and beat up the mixture over heated water in a double boiler until you have a soft cream. Remove the mixture and allow it to cool. You can then apply this cream to your skin and allow it to remain overnight for best effects.
One of the best homemade creams consists of honey, glycerin and barley. Beat up an ounce of honey, with one tea spoon of glycerin and one egg white. After having beaten up this mixture thoroughly, add barley to the mixture to turn it into a paste. Apply the mixture to your skin, and as with the other mixture, leave this on overnight.
