Uncommon Type of Skin Cancer
The two types of cancers that are most common are the melanoma and the non-melanoma types. However there are some less common forms of cancer that require different types of treatment. The first one is Merkel cell carcinoma. It is a rare and dangerous form of cancer of the skin and generally manifests as a round swelling or lump, on the head or neck and other areas of the body that are continually exposed to the sun. The second type is called Kaposi sarcoma. This cancer appears in the dermis layer but also forms in the internal organs of the body. It is extremely rare and has been known to form in patients suffering from acquired immune deficiency or experiencing the onset of the disease.
Third type is Tcell lymphoma and is known to be a common type of skin lymphoma. Also known as mycosis fungoides; it starts on the skin and spreads over the entire area. It initially looks like eczema or psoriasis and eventually becomes thicker. The reason for the cancer is unknown, but can be cured.
The fourth type is known as sarcoma and forms in various parts of the body, such as the nerves, lymph vessels, blood vessels and mostly in the fat layers of the body.
