Skin Cancer Biopsy

Skin cancer manifests itself in a variety of forms. You will have to be alert to the various changes in your body and take special note of any sudden growths or patches that have sprouted on your skin. In most cases you will notice small patches of abnormal looking skin. If a lesion on your body does not heal or looks as if the skin is scaly, you should immediately get it checked. Similarly if the lesion is brown in color then it is cause for concern. Small red boils that may appear on your face, neck or even lips are indications of skin cancer. Of course, these may also be your body's reaction to some food you have eaten. However it is essential that you get them checked by your doctor. You may have noticed that you have a mole on your body. But if you the mole appear to be growing larger then you should get yourself examined. Sometimes the mole bleeds.

Your medical practitioner will examine you and then suggest a skin biopsy. A skin biopsy is a test that will be used to determine if you do have skin cancer or not. The doctor will take away a small piece of your skin and test this to ascertain if you do have cancer.
