What are the effects of skin cancer on one's health?

Consequence of Skin Cancer
Skin cancer can be of various types, including melanoma and non-melanoma type. It is the first type that is highly dangerous, although it is best to prevent the occurrence of any of the above-mentioned types of skin cancer.
The second type of skin cancer (non-melanoma) can take two forms. Basal cell carcinoma results from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet sunrays and shows up as painless lumps on the face, especially the nose. Although it is rarely fatal, it can become worse if left untreated. Primarily it results in open sores on the face and they do not heal in the normal manner Squamous cell carcinoma also results from prolonged sun exposure and can show up in any area of the body where the skin has been thus exposed. It is more fatal than BCC and if left untreated can spread to other areas and cause death. This type of skin cancer is evident from scaly, warty looking growths in any of the affected parts of the skin.
The final type, Melanoma is the most malignant and is usually predicted by short but intense exposure to sunrays that is characteristic of a sunburn or a tanning accident. It can spread to other areas and organs and causes most of the fatalities that are attributed to skin cancer. Melanoma is characterized by growths that have a mole-like appearance and are brown or black in colour.
