Skin Cancer Foundation
Is there any kind of skin cancer foundation from where I can get reliable information on skin cancer? My cousin has skin cancer and I am trying to find out more.

There are various skin cancer institutes and foundations that can provide you with reliable and comprehensive information on the causes, risks and treatments of skin cancer. You have not mentioned your location and so it is impossible for me to direct you. However, I suggest that you either ask your doctor or your local hospital as they will have the required information. You can also ask them for information regarding skin cancer institutes within your state.
As you mentioned that your cousin has skin cancer, I thought that you might find the following information useful. There are three basic common types of skin cancer: Basal cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Melanoma. Treatment for skin cancer varies according to the type of cancer. Of these, the non melanoma cancers are the commonest and also the most treatable. Melanoma cancers are rather rare and are also more dangerous as they can spread rapidly.
Non melanoma cancers can be treated using Cryosurgery or Topical Medications. Cryosurgery uses liquid nitrogen to destroy cancerous cells. Topical creams are used in cases that have been diagnosed rarely and have minimal risk of scarring. Mohs micrographic surgery requires special training and is rather complicated, but it has the highest cure rate of all surgical treatments.
