Skin Cancer Lip
I have recently been diagnosed with skin cancer of the lip. How can I treat this condition?

Cancerous Growth on Lips
Your choice of treatment depends on the type of skin cancer diagnosed. As you mentioned that you have cancer of the lip, I am assuming that it is Squamous cell carcinoma which is the general case. Skin cancer that occurs on the lip tends to be more aggressive as it often spreads to the surrounding lymph nodes. Make sure that you discuss all your options with your doctor before you choose a treatment.
Your treatment will also depend on how aggressive your cancer is. Surgery and radiation therapy are two of the most common and effective courses. Radiation therapy will probably be internal, and could be accompanied by external radiation therapy if the cancer has progressed to a later stage. Chemotherapy uses various drugs to kill cancer cells. Sometimes a combination of Radiation and chemotherapy is necessary. Cryosurgery uses liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy early skin cancers. This treatment could leave a very small scar. There are also Topical Medicated creams and gels that can be quite painful, but they generally have minimal scarring.
Make sure that you follow a healthy diet, especially if you are undergoing medicated treatments. These treatments can be very harsh on your system and can leave you quite weak, so make sure that you eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits that will help your body to heal faster.
