Indication of Skin Cancer

Skin cancer symptoms are quite tricky to detect for a layperson, since they do not really manifest themselves as something extra ordinary. Instead, they are quite ordinary and common place. This is a reason why it is recommended that after the age of 50 years, you conduct a monthly skin examination to check for any unusual signs of a mark, wound or lesion that does not heal, a bump or a discoloration of any kind. This skin examination can be explained to you by your regular doctor, and is really not too complicated to see fro yourself. However, detection of anything unusual is not a symptom of cancer. It is a sign that you should get yourself examined to rule out that you have skin cancer instead.

A doctor would also not look at you and come to any positive diagnosis. A series of tests would have to be conducted in order to determine that you are indeed afflicted with the disease. The commonest signs of skin cancer, as stated earlier are marks and lesions on your skin that are discolored, do not heal, or have the appearance of being bumpy or excessively shiny. These are the signs you have to look for as predecessors to skin cancer.
