Identifying Skin Cancer
If you suspect that you have skin cancer, the first thing you must do is look for obvious signs of the disease. Most of the tine, these signs are felt only in terms of superficial physical changes. Sometimes these changes do not even show up too clearly on the skin, depending upon the color of your skin and how vigilant you are about it. The worst part is that there are no obvious symptoms such as pain or a wound or any kind of itching that is associated with cancer. The only thing you can check for is any kind of unusual discoloration, a physical change in your skin or any kind of bump or lumpy formation just below the surface of the skin that persists for over a month or so.
It is also important for you to know that you cannot detect this disease by yourself. Even a doctor cannot look and say fro sure that you have cancer if you are having a superficial symptom. Running tests is an important part of the process of detecting if you have cancer or not. The test most commonly associated with a diagnosis of cancer is called a biopsy, which is a medical procedure wherein a small part of the area that is suspected to have cancer cells is removed and microscopically for presence of cancer cells.
