Skin Cancer Patient Survival
Skin cancer is a disease that can affect the skin on any part of your body. If the disease is identified in the early stages the doctors are able to being treatment almost immediately. As can be expected the success rate of this treatment is high and the patient usually goes back to a normal life after undergoing the treatment. Also, if the patient is healthy and able to withstand the treatment, then the chances of successfully removing or treating the cancerous cells are far greater. Also, the position of the tumour is a factor that needs to be taken into consideration when treating skin cancer.
In addition to this you should remember that there are different types of skin cancer. While some types of skin cancer affect only a small area of the skin and usually do not spread to the cells nearby, others can spread very quickly. As you can imagine, it is far easier to control the cancer that restricts itself to only a small area. On the other hand treating a cancer that spreads very fast through the body is difficult and the treatment that is used does not always ensure a high rate of success.
