Oily hair can come about due to a variety of reasons. You could be suffering from it hereditarily, or it could be a result of clogged hair pores. In other words, oily hair does not necessarily indicate that your hair is healthy and well nourished. As a matter of fact, it could also be an indicator of the opposite. Conditioner, on the other hand, is used to nourish your hair. It will not only make your hair smooth and rich, it will also work towards strengthening your hair shaft, hair roots and generally giving you a fuller, healthier and better head of hair.

There is a vast variety of conditioners available in the market you can easily use. There are also specific conditioners that are formulated specifically for your hair type. Conditioners for oily hair are formulated to supply less moisture to the hair as compared to regular conditioners. For most part, you will find it more beneficial to use a shampoo that already contains conditioner. These shampoos are typically called two in one shampoos and this fact is clearly and prominently indicated on the bottle itself. These typically have a mild conditioner which is better suited to oily hair. You will also find it beneficial to use shampoo that is made specifically for oily hair.

If you are opposed to using hair conditioners available off the shelf, it is perfectly fine. You can use conditioners made at home. This is also inexpensive by comparison, but they have excellent results too. The best conditioner you can use at home is egg. Whip an egg into three tablespoons of yogurt and apply this to your scalp and roots. Leave it on for about an hour and then shampoo it off. Try to do this at least thrice a week and you will notice excellent results within a month. If you do not wish to use egg, you can also use hair oil. This is another excellent conditioner. But because you have oily hair, this is not the best available option for you. If you must use oil, make it a point to leave it in your hair and scalp for no more than a couple of hours. It will work as well as it has to in that much time. Henna is an herb that can also be used to condition your hair. Make a paste of henna powder, yogurt, and an infusion of black tea. Apply and leave on for about five hours and shampoo. Do this once a month for best results.
