Aging Skin Care Tips
Aging skin is generally extremely delicate and mush be treated gently at all times. The amount of natural oils produced by the body decreases as we age and this causes the skin to lose its capacity to retain moisture, making it dry and leathery. Make sure that you do not use hot water to wash your face and apply a drop or two of coconut oil (or a moisturizing lotion) to help your skin retain moisture better. Virgin coconut oil is one of the best natural remedies for aging skin as it nourishes and moisturizes the skin while helping to reduce wrinkles. Never rub your face vigorously to dry it as this will loosen your skin and cause it to sag, instead pat your skin gently with a towel.
Most skin damage is caused by exposure to the sun and so it would be advisable to steer clear of sunlight as much as possible and use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 to protect your skin. Over exposure to sunlight causes elastosis which basically is a loss of elasticity of the skin, making wrinkles more visible. Make sure that you have a balanced diet that includes foods that are rich in antioxidants. Also make sure that you drink an adequate amount of water and sleep and exercise regularly.
