Baby Skin Care Tips

Baby skin care is of the utmost importance. It is important to know essential facts about baby skin care as your ignorance can cost your child dearly when he/she grows up. Babies have a thinner and more delicate layer of skin that can absorb harmful chemicals more easily as compared to adults. It is therefore important to make sure that you do not use unnecessary cosmetic products even if they are meant for babies. Most products contain unnecessary chemicals and some of them are highly dangerous known carcinogens. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) is one such chemical that is generally used in shampoos and bubble bath solutions to create a foamy lather. When choosing a shampoo, make sure that you choose one that does not contain added perfumes or colours as most of these are known irritants.

Do not use sun screen lotions on your child, but instead avoid taking a baby/infant out into direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time. Recent studies have shown that even one bad case of skin burn as a child can lead to cancer up to forty years later.

Try to use natural products in particular, as far as possible. Instead of using a baby-oil that contains various scents and chemicals, you can use a few drops of pure olive oil instead.
