The problem you have described sounds like a case of some sort of alopecia. This is a problem wherein a person would typically deal with bald patches, thinning hair and patchy, uneven hair growth. However, it is not a definite verdict. It would be advisable for you to get a medical opinion on whether you have alopecia or not. Consulting a trichologist would be your best option. A trichologist is a hair and scalp expert, who will make an accurate diagnosis and guide you correctly about the problem you have. If indeed you are suffering from alopecia, you would have to undergo a proper course of medication and other treatments in order to get rid of the problem. It is not easily solvable with over the counter or home based remedies.

Once you have eliminated or confirmed the possibility of alopecia, you can also follow some simple home remedies to supplement your treatment, if you are undergoing any. These will help to add to your hair growth. The best remedy to grow new hair is to apply freshly squeezed onion juice to it. This is well known and proven to produce fresh hair growth. You can do this every morning and leave it on for about two hours before washing it off. You can also add the juice of half a lime to the onion juice for better results. This will not only cleanse your scalp, thus helping you with the oiliness, it will also help to grow new hair.

In order to get rid of oiliness on your scalp, you would need to follow some simple methods. Applying a hair pack made of yogurt and orange juice to your hair will help considerably in treating the hair strands for oiliness. Yogurt will dry out your oily hair, and condition your hair at the same time to prevent excessive drying. You can also slice a lime in half and rub one half into your scalp to prevent oiliness and get rid of deep rooted dirt particles in your scalp. It is important for you to wash your hair everyday to maintain a clean and oil free scalp. So make it a point to use a mild herbal shampoo which is specially formulated for oily hair. You may also use conditioner, provided you use a type that is suited to oily hair. This will make a considerable difference to the overall health and growth of your hair.
