Certain combs with electric energy or plasma energy or laser energy claim to prevent hair loss and also show to promote new hair growth in both men and women. Some researches also believe that when the plasma comb or electric comb is turned on it emits low-intensity plasma energy between the bristles. This energy penetrates the skin and stimulates the hair follicles. This causes the cells to release chemicals which can promote hair growth. These researches do not state any negative effects of this comb however and moreover these combs are very expensive. You can get these on the internet or any other cosmetic shops because these combs are considered as a cosmetic device. Besides using these combs you can try the following home remedies to promote hair growth -

  • Lavender oil - lavender oil has been proved scientifically to promote hair growth significantly. Massage lavender oil gently on the scalp, leave it overnight and wash next day morning. Repeat this every alternate day for best results. Olive oil and castor oil also when applied in similar fashion helps to reduce hair loss and promote new hair growth.
  • Boil rosemary leaves in water till the water becomes 3/4. Strain this solution and store in a bottle and use this water to wash hair. You can also store this water in a sprayer and spray on the hair and scalp every morning.
  • Grind myrtle leaves and saturate them in water for a day, add little olive oil and salt to it. Apply this saturate on hair and cover the scalp with a cotton fabric. Leave it overnight and wash next day morning with cold or warm water. This when followed for two weeks will promote significant hair growth.
  • Add 1 tsp of mustard seeds in a cup of boiling water, simmer for 5 minutes and drink it when cool.
