Treatment for Androgenetic Alopecia

Due to Androgenetic Alopecia which is due to stress I lost many of my hairs. Using Saw Palmetto my hair fall has reduced but my baldness is still visible. What should I do to regain my hairs back? Please help!

Androgenetic alopecia is one of the most common causes for hair loss in both men and women. In this hair loss is gradual with miniaturization of the hair follicles which are genetically programmed. Continue using saw palmetto oil to massage your scalp if you find difference in your hair fall that is if you feel that your hair fall is reduced after using this oil. There are many causes for androgenetic alopecia the main is genetic factors. It is believed that the hair growing tissues becomes sensitive to the hormones, and this sensitivity is due to certain genetic factors. The growth phase of hair reduces and also the hair follicle is reduced in size. In simple words the hair follicle is inactive for most of the time and then the hair is shed once this stage is done. Heredity also plays an important role in this condition as it is believed that androgenetic alopecia runs in family. Treatment mode mainly includes drugs like steroid creams, minoxidil, and dithranol which are believed to promote hair growth. Certain pills and supplements also clain hair re-growth and hair loss, but before starting any herbal or medical or vitamin supplement it is important to consult your specialist. After his/her conformation nod start any pills or supplements. Ultraviolet light and hair transplants are also other options but one should study these options first before choosing them. For some natural treatment also works. Try -

  • Mix equal amounts of camphor lotion and plain yoghurt together and apply it on the head. Leave it for 2-3 hours before washing with lukewarm water. this is a very effective remedy for hair loss.
  • Other oils like lavender oil, castor oil, coconut oil and almond oil can also be massaged on the scalp to promote new hair growth and prevent hair loss.
