Hot Tub Skin Rash

Skin Rash from Hot Tub

Hot tub skin rash is also known as hot tub folliculitis. It is caused by a bacterium called pseudomonas and is generally seen where the sanitation of the spa is not good. The most common symptoms of this skin problem are an itchy rash and Hot Tub Skin Rash. These symptoms are many times confused with bug bites. If not taken care of at the right time these may develop more serious skin problems. This condition clears up without leaving any scar on your skin. However, it may reoccur if the infected hot tub is not cleaned or disinfected properly. The symptoms of this rash are itchy, bumpy, red rash occurs on the skin within two days of the hot tub exposure. The bumps may some times develop into dark red tender nodules; you may also develop small blisters. Maintaining good hygienic habits like taking a shower before using the hot tub and avoiding the use of hot tub when you have open cuts or wounds and keeping the water line and adjoining surfaces clean can help you prevent hot tub skin rash.
