Causes and Symptoms for Chicken Skin Rash
Chicken skin rash is also known as Keratosis Pilaris. This condition affects almost 40 to 50% of the adult population and 50 to 80% of the teenagers. This condition can range from minimal to severe. Many of the people having this skin rash do not know that they have it. The appearance of the skin rash resembles goose bumps and is characterized by small red bumps on the skin. It primarily occurs on the back and the outer side of upper arms, they may also affect the thighs and the buttocks. They generally affect any part of the body except the palms and the soles. This condition cannot be noticed easily but is completely harmless. The skin rash shows its worst form during the winter season and less humid period when the skin dries out. They may worsen or occur during pregnancy or may show up after child birth. There is no cure for this skin rash as it is a chronic, genetic follicular disease. Many effective treatment regimes are available these days that can help you get rid of chicken skin rash. The results of treatment may be disappointing ad may vary from people to people. Once the treatment has started it should not be discontinued.
