There is a vast variety of natural skin toners that you can use which are easily available in your kitchen or the nearest pharmacy. The basic content of toners is a mixture of alcohol and water. Both of these products combine to provide excellent skin tone. One of the best toners you can use is cucumber juice, mixed with a bit of crushed alum. This will not only cleanse your skin, it will also clear your blemishes and make your skin tone even. Alum has the property of toning, while cucumber will even out the skin tone. Another excellent toner is tomato juice. Squeeze fresh tomato juice and add a few drops of glycerin to it. This will have an immediate and powerful effect. Tomato juice also has a tendency to cleanse your skin while glycerin will help to tone it to perfection.

Witch hazel is also an excellent toner which is more suitable for dryer skin than oily skin. As a matter of fact, toning is a pretty basic requirement for the regular care and maintenance of oily skin. Dry skin would be mostly exempt from this process, as toning has a tendency to dry out skin further. Witch hazel is not only an excellent toner; it is also a superlative cleanser. It has the tendency to dig deep into the skin and pull out dirt particles which few other cleansers can do. It is best to use witch hazel by itself, though it can also be mixed with some basic ethyl alcohol in the proportion of two is to one, respectively. All you would have to do is dip cotton in this mixture and rub it all over your face. This will have the desired effect. Make sure you try all of these toners out for at least a week before you see positive results.

Camphor is also an excellent toner. It is one of the rare ones wherein you can actually feel the product working on your skin. Crush a few camphor tablets and mix them with water. Use at once, as if you let this stand for too long, it will only start becoming stronger and may actually give your skin a burning sensation. Apply this with cotton wool, and you will feel the tingling sensation on your skin after a few minutes of application. This is an indicator that the camphor is working. Menthol is also an excellent skin toner.
