Causes and Treatment for Itchy Skin Rash
Skin rash is usually accompanied by itching and can lead to bumps, redness, cracks, blotches, swelling and blisters on skin. Itchy skin rash may be caused by bacterial, fungal or viral infections. Some skin diseases like psoriasis, Pityriasis Rosea, poison ivy, chicken pox, scabies, eczema, hives, ringworm and athlete's foot can give rise to itchy skin rash. Keep the skin hydrated and moisturized is the main treatment option for itchy skin rashes. You can use soaps, creams, moisturizing agents like emollients like aqueous creams, etc. Ointments that contain sulfur, coal tar and in some cases steroids can be effectively used for the treatment of itchy skin rash.
