I have some problems with my skin and want to consult a doctor. Can you tell me what does a skin doctor do? How can I find a good one?

Skin Care Specialist- Dermatologists
Although you can visit a general practitioner, it would be better to consult a dermatologist who will be able to diagnose and treat your skin problems. Even if your skin condition seems relatively mild, it would be best that you go in for a consultation as soon as possible.
A dermatologist will examine your skin and will be able to accurately diagnose your problem. In case you have a growth, he can also biopsy it and suggest various courses of action. If you have a simple skin rash or a fungal infection, he will prescribe a medicated cream. Depending on the severity of your skin problem, he may also prescribe an anti-biotic or other medication. Make sure that you follow a regular skin care programme to enjoy problem -free skin. Use products that are suited to your skin type and make sure that you never try to diagnose any skin aliment yourself.
You can visit the nearest hospital for a list of certified dermatologists in your area. Almost all hospitals have a dermatology wing. In such cases, you can visit the dermatologist from the hospital itself. The advantage in doing this is that you can then be certain that your dermatologist is certified and probably has more experience than a dermatologist that has his own practice.
