Aloe Vera for Healthy Skin
Aloe vera is a succulent plant that grows wild in almost all parts of the world. It has thick and long leaves that may or may not be spotted intermittently. If you split open these leaves, there are gelatinous deposits that make up the body of the stiff leaf. This is known as aloe vera gel. This substance is considered to be almost magical in its healing properties. The gel obtained from the plant can be used to heal a variety of skin ailments such as common rashes, allergies, eczema and any other superficial skin trouble. It also has cosmetic value, in that it is a natural moisturizer, darkness reducer and excellent bleaching agent and cleanser. Please keep in mind that aloe vera gel cannot be used by itself. It would have to undergo a certain amount of processing before you can use it.
The juice of parts of the aloe vera plant is also considered useful in treating several stomach ailments, most notably bowel irregularities. The juice is also a cooling agent that is useful in calming an excited or disturbed digestive system. However, it is important that you consult a doctor before you begin consuming it in any way, as it is not yet safe to eat or drink any part of the plant directly.
