Skin Rash in Children
The infant skin rashes occur due to prolonged usage of diapers or nappies. If your child starts developing rashes, then it means that he/she may be sensitive to them. Therefore, the first thing that you should do is discontinue using them for some time at least. During this time, the rashes will get cured naturally without having to use anything extra. This is the simplest natural remedy, which works quite a few times.
However, if this does not work you can use the over the counter diaper creams. They are generally oil based and therefore they nourish the skin and reduce the rashes. In addition, the petroleum jellies or the oils as shark liver oil, cord liver oil, etc are popular as well. Using any of these products is useful most of the times.
However, in more severe cases you need to use the ointments like zinc oxide, etc. sometimes due to the rashes are associated with fungal infection. If you find that such fungal infection has occurred, you have to use the anti fungal creams as well.
The creams having hydrocortisone may be used; however, they just cure the symptoms and not the rash itself. However, they are quicker in action than and therefore they can be used to relieve the baby from the symptoms.
