Get rid of unwanted hair from face using waxing and tweezing
Women are not prone to facial hair in the same way as men. Concern rises if there is an increase or extra hair growth especially on the face. Before we come to the cure, you must first understand why extra hair growth occurs. Hirsutism or excessive, abnormal hair growth on any part of the body can occur due to hormonal surges; for example, the changes that occur during adolescence, menstruation, menopause, stress, hereditary reasons, or even a prescription drug intake. Hormone pills and other medications such as steroid creams can also cause excessive hair growth as a side effect. A thorough health check up to gauge the hormonal level of production is the first step to identify and thus reduce the growth of unwanted hair on the face and body. If the hormonal levels are skewed, an extended treatment to rectify the anomaly is the second step.
Waxing is a method to remove facial hair but extreme care must be exercised to remove hair since it is a sensitive and very visible part of the body. Homemade wax or sugaring solution is most effective to remove hair, as it is easier to apply and remove. The process is similar in nature to waxing. Mix sugar, water and lemon or orange juice and boil the mixture till it becomes as thick as molasses. Apply it to the skin after it cools and then place a porous cloth over the skin. Wait for the skin to tighten and pull away the cloth. This should remove a lot of the hair. Over time and repeated sessions, the hair will stop growing.
Using a pair of tweezers and threading are the most trouble-free remedies for removing facial hair. However, though they are time-consuming, the chances of these two methods going wrong are minimal when compared to other methods like waxing and chemical removal of hair follicles. Care must be taken to use a sharp and clean pair of tweezers. You can wash your face with cold water, place a damp cotton swab or cloth over the portions that have to be tweezed or even apply a cooling talcum powder to absorb the oil from the area. Electrolysis uses an electrical current delivered to the hair follicle to remove hair permanently by destroying the hair follicle. However, you will need to repeat visits to the clinic for more sessions, and each session is also rather costly. The treatment also poses certain risks – there is a minor risk of electrical shock, and the needle used may lead to an infection if it is not sterilized. The main risk is that of scarring, which usually happens only if the procedure is not performed properly. Laser hair removal is probably the best treatment and one that also has the least side effects except for a temporary discoloration. Therefore, the slow and natural way of hair removal is also the safest way to a cleaner, non-scarred skin and a more beautiful you.
