Excess body hair removal for men

It is difficult to define what is normal as far as things like body hair are concerned, because it varies greatly from one person to the next. However, having a lot of body hair and facial hair at the age of 13 is certainly not abnormal for a boy. You have obviously entered adolescence, and this is one sign of it. Among boys, adolescence usually sets in around the age of 12, although for some, it may set in considerably later. For others, it may also begin a bit earlier, and this was probably the case with you. Facial hair and body hair usually starts to appear around the age of 14, and does not usually get very thick till at least a couple of years later. However, here too, each individual varies considerably, and having a lot of body hair and facial hair by 13 is not really a problem, nor is it something you should be embarrassed about. At your age, most boys are still waiting for facial hair to appear, so you might feel a bit awkward being the only one with a beard and moustache. However, in a year or two, most of your friends and classmates will also have developed some amount of facial and body hair, and by then, the ones without hair will probably be feeling awkward. By then, facial hair and body hair are usually considered to be a sign of masculinity and a source of pride. Although there is in fact no such connection, you would do well to look at the situation positively and be happy that you have a full, thick growth of hair.

If your hair still bothers you a lot, you could start shaving or waxing. Facial hair should ideally be shaved, while other body hair could either be waxed or shaved. Men usually have rather thick body hair however, so waxing might be too difficult and painful. Shaving is usually much simpler, and you can easily do it yourself. You need to wet the hair first, so as to soften it. Typically, people also use a shaving cream to soften the hair and lubricate the skin. After working up the cream or foam into a good lather, you can start shaving with short strokes in the direction of hair growth. If you want a closer shave, you can follow this up with a second shave in the opposite direction.
