Reducing hair fall and dandruff with home remedies
Hair loss can be brought about by several reasons and one of them is dandruff. Dandruff on one’s scalp can either be in the form of waxy, coarse scales that latch on to the scalp and hair or they it could be in the form of flakes or dry powder. The waxy and coarse form of dandruff is the one that causes itching, however scratching should be avoided as it could cause bleeding and infections. Dandruff can be caused due to several reasons such as, excess of oil being secreted by the sebaceous glands, unhealthy scalp conditions, stress, anxiety and so on. Whatever the reasons may be, this condition can be discomforting and can very often prove to be a source of embarrassment. The loss of your hair could also be caused by the scratching of the scalp on account of this condition, as that can damage the hair follicle, thus resulting in hair fall. You will hence need to treat the dandruff, in order to curb hair fall. Dandruff is very difficult to get rid of, but one can take steps that will help in preventing it.
Here are a few natural hair care tips that will help reduce dandruff and in turn lessen hair fall. Fenugreek seeds are considered to be indispensable when it comes to the treatment of dandruff. Take 1-2 teaspoons of these seeds and soak them in a jar of water overnight. The next morning grind the seeds to make a thin paste. This paste must then be applied onto the scalp. Leave the application on for around 30 minutes and then rinse it off thoroughly, with warm or cold water. Lime juice can also be used in treating dandruff. Add 2-3 teaspoons of lime juice to 500 ml of water. This can be used as a final rinse on your hair after shampooing. Snake gourd juice if massaged into the scalp is also effective.
Beet root is also useful for treating this condition. Boil the root in water, the decoction should be gently massaged into the scalp every night before going to bed. White beet would be preferred for this particular treatment. Mix together three drops each of lemon juice and honey with 2 tablespoons of yogurt. This mixture should then be massaged onto the scalp for ten minutes and then be left on for another 15-20 minutes. Thereafter, rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water. This remedy is considered to be highly effective.
