If possible, try and get an aloe vera plant and use the freshly squeezed gel from one of its leaves. This will provide better results than applying a readymade gel. As cucumber is highly water retentive, it is a good idea to not only eat it but to also cut it into slices and rub them over the lips to cure dry lips. It will provide the necessary moisture to the lips and help the lips retain that moisture as well. However, this is something that you will have to do on a regular basis for it to show definite results. For immediate results, applying milk cream to your lips is a much better solution. The greasy nature of milk cream will take care of the dryness and the natural properties of milk will soothe and soften your lips considerably. The one thing that you should not forget to do is to apply sunscreen lotion to your lips before heading out in the sun. This will help protect your lips from the damaging rays of the sun. Another useful solution is applying a mixture of honey and olive oil at night before going to sleep.
