Get pink lips using rose petals and milk cream

If your lips are naturally dark, then unfortunately there is little that one can do to in order to change this color. Not everyone has pink lips; some people have lips that are darker than others. Pink lips are however considered to be a sign of beauty in some cultures and that is the main reason people yean for them. Just as the skin gets its color from the pigment known as melanin, it works in the same way with your lips as well. The lips too contain melanin just like your skin. In people with darker skin tones the amount of melanin is more and hence they appear darker. If you were not born with dark lips, but rather, they have turned dark over time then it could be the indication of an underlying health problem.

Excessive smoking can also lead ones lips to turn black or dark, on account of nicotine staining. In addition, poor eating habits, dehydration, the reduced intake of water or an illness can also make the lips visibly darker. In case your lips have turned darker over time, then here are a few home remedies that can help restore their pink color. Coconut oil is considered to be very useful for attaining healthy pink lips. Simply dab on a few drops of coconut oil at bedtime.  This treatment if done on a regular basis should yield results in a month or two. As an alternative to coconut oil, you could also apply almond oil on your lips every night. This will also help in restoring the lost color.

Another very effective remedy would be the use of lemon juice. Apply a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice on your lips. Let the application stay on for about ten minutes, after which you should rinse it off with cold water. This remedy should be performed on a daily basis till you see a visible difference in the color of your lips. A paste that has been prepared from rose petals and fresh milk cream can also be applied on the lips. This will help in making them smooth and soft. Consume plenty of legumes, whole grain, tomatoes, carrots and green leafed vegetables. These are all rich in vitamin A, which will help in making the lips look pink and healthy. Make sure that you keep your body well hydrated by drinking a minimum of 8-10 glasses of water a day and reduce your intake of caffeinated beverages.
