What home remedies can I use to treat my dried wrinkled hands. I am 25 years old but my dried cracked and hard hand skin makes me look like I am 60?
Dried hands that have been neglected and start appearing dry and wrinkled can make you look older than you are. You should pamper your hands in the same way you pamper your face, keeping them clean and well moisturized. To avoid having dry cracked wrinkled hands you should wash your hands properly every morning during your shower and before you sleep, taking care to scrub the nails and knuckles properly. You should also try and push the cuticles of your nails back by using your towel or a manicure kit when the skin is still soft from being wet. Alternately you can soak your hands for 15 to 20 minutes in a bowl filled with warm water and a few drops of glycerin or lemon juice in it to soften and cleanse the skin properly. Remember to gently scrub the coarse skin of your knuckles and elbows using a pumice stone to get rid of the dead skin and reveal the soft skin underneath. Always moisturize your hands properly after you have washed them so that they do not appear dry and to avoid having dried hand.
Wrinkles are a part of the ageing process and though we can delay them we can’t completely do away with them. Premature wrinkles, however, are a cause of concern and are usually linked to dehydration or the lack of adequate Vitamin E which is important for nourishing the skin and making it soft and supple. Aside from several natural remedies for wrinkles, there are several dietary measures that you must follow. The right food products and the recommended amount of liquids will help to nourish the skin from within. You should consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals and nuts rich in essential nutrients and fresh fruit juices. Water acts as a carrier within the body and supplies yourskin with the nutrients and fats it requires. Drink an adequate amount of water daily to ensure that your hands remain soft and wrinkle-free.
Every culture has a home remedy for delaying wrinkles and you can benefit from any one of them. These remedies usually suggest application of herbal oils that are easily available. Olive oil, jojoba oil and coconut oil are most commonly recommended for dry and wrinkled skin. Massage your hands with either one or a mixture of these oils daily. For the best results, do this at night and cover your hands with a pair of old cotton gloves to protect your sheets. You will soon find that your skin is regaining its natural elasticity and that the drying and scaling is reduced. Application of honey on wrinkled skin is also beneficial since the anti-oxidants in honey help to reduce the wrinkles and restore the smooth, supple quality of the skin.
