Home remedies for herpes and remedial measures to get rid of itch & pain

Please suggest some home remedies for herpes!

Before you begin to try and take care of herpes at home, there are a couple of things you should know about it. The first thing is that there is no cure that can totally take away your herpes. You can find various home remedies for herpes and remedial measures to use for relief from the itching or pain you may be experiencing. But nothing can totally take it away. Once you have been infected, the virus can live dormant inside your body for up to 40 years. It may never resurface, but there is every chance that it may resurface as well. Taking care of your herpes would also depend upon which type of herpes you have. There are two types of herpes, one being genital herpes, which affects your genitals. The other type affects your skin and shows up as outbreaks of the skin. This may also resemble a rash.

In order to take care of and treat genital herpes, you need to begin following some basic hygienic habits. The first is that you should wear only pure cotton underwear. This will be of maximum help. Cotton is cool and clean, as it allows passage of air to your body, thus allowing any perspiration of fluids to dry up very well. Synthetic materials on the other hand will trap sweat and bacteria on the surface of your skin, thus allowing it to fester and grow. It is also important that you wash your underwear with hot water to which you can add a few drops of antiseptic cleaning liquid. You must also make it a point to change your underwear at least twice a day, and more frequently if you can help it. Each time you change, you must also wash your genitals with warm water to which a little hydrogen peroxide has been added. These simple things will not only provide relief, but if you follow them regularly, you will find that outbreaks do not repeat themselves. If you are afflicted with herpes on any other part of your body, you can apply fresh yogurt to it. The live active bacteria in yogurt will feed off the virus, thus killing it in the best and most effective of ways. You must also apply a mix of hydrogen peroxide (one part) and water (10 parts) to your skin frequently. This will sanitize the area and minimize spread. Fresh chilled milk is also very soothing on the skin if it is burning.
