Yesterday I had a clear skin on my left cheek, now when I woke up, it’s so red!! Please suggest remedies for the same.
If the redness on cheek does not disappear over the next two or three days, or if it gets worse, you should visit your doctor. It is not possible to say for sure what the cause of redness on face could be without physically examining your cheek. In all probability it is an insect bite or an allergy that has caused the redness, and it is unlikely to be anything serious. Over the next few days, just be very careful about what you put on your face, particularly when it comes to creams and cosmetics. Preferably, to reduce redness of the face, you should avoid applying any kind of cream, make up, or perfume on your face for the next few days. If you are a man and you shave, it would also probably be a good idea to avoid shaving till a couple of days after the rash disappears. The shaving gel or soap as well as the after shave lotion you use may irritate the skin on your cheek further, and in addition, the action of shaving will itself irritate the skin much more than it does normally.
Avoid using soap as well – simply wash your face several times a day with plain, cool water. You can also apply fresh aloe gel to your cheek a couple of times a day. These are the safest remedies for now to get rid of redness on face, since you don’t know what the redness is due to.
Try to recall whether you applied anything unusual to your face during the previous day. If what you are seeing is an allergic rash, it will be very useful to you to be able to identify the cause of the rash. If this turns into a regular occurrence (of course hopefully it will not) and you are still unable to identify the cause, you should let your doctor take a look at the affected skin. You may need to visit an allergist, who will perform some tests to identify the substances that you are allergic to. If you are being bitten by an insect too, your doctor will probably be able to recognize a bite more easily than you yourself would. If this is the case, you will need to decide how to get rid of the insects responsible. Repetitive bites can sometimes lead to immunity, but at other times can cause the reaction to get more and more severe.
For now however, there is no need for you to worry, as this is most likely a one-off incident.
