I have dark skin - can you give me any tip to prevent further darkening and make it glow
Dark skin does not require any specialized skin care regimen, but there are certain aspects of your skin care regimen that you will need to pay greater attention to. For example you will need to prevent darkening of skin and protect your skin from tanning caused by exposure to sunlight as this will cause further darkening of the skin. At times the tan may also be uneven as a result of irregular pigmentation. There are however, a number of natural home remedies and simple skin care tips that you can follow to give your skin a healthy glow and prevent further darkening of skin.
• It is imperative that you wash your face well and keep it clean, but avoid using regular soaps or any other harsh products. You can use facial cleansers or some natural facial cleansers that you can prepare at home. One of the best natural cleansers is a mixture of honey with some lemon juice and finely ground almond. Gently rub this paste onto your face, using it as a natural cleanser. This will not just cleanse your face, but also hydrates your skin, and honey naturally inhibits any bacterial growth. You can use lukewarm water to wash off the residue. This treatment will give your skin a radiant and natural glow.
• Whenever you wash your face, make it a point to dab your skin gently with a soft towel or tissue. Never rub it dry as this removes the necessary moisture and natural oils.
• Skin toners are another product that you should consider using. Natural toners are preferable and lemon makes for an excellent choice. It is a powerful astringent with anti bacterial properties and is also rich in vitamin C. You can also use cucumbers, either mashed to a pulp, slices or cucumber juice. Applying raw egg whites will also help tighten the pores.
• Moisturizers are also important for healthy skin as the main reason for dull lifeless skin is dryness. Natural moisturizers are the safest and best option. You can use peach as an effective moisturizer. Peal the skin off and mash a ripe peach. Mix the juice with some cream before applying it to your skin. This will keep your skin soft and supple and endow it with a natural glow. You can also use virgin coconut oil, olive oil or avocado oil to moisturize and nourish your skin.
• Exfoliate your skin regularly to get rid of dead and dry skin cells. Honey mixed with lime juice and sugar works as an excellent natural exfoliator.
Apart from these tips, make it a point to never use any harsh cosmetic products on your skin.
