Get rid of age spots with aloe vera and potato

Age spots, otherwise known as liver spots or sun spots, is a harmless condition. These spots usually have a flat black or brownish gray appearance. They could appear in varying sizes and are normally seen on the shoulders, arms and face, since these areas are exposed to the sun. These spots are more commonly seen amongst older individuals, but they may at times be seen on younger people too. Age spots do not pose any kind of health hazard and thus do not require any special form of treatment or cure. However to be on the safer side it is always beneficial to get such kind of spots medically checked, in order determine if they are cancerous or not.

Age spots can be treated by following a few simple natural skin care remedies. Aloe vera gel is known to work best on such spots. Take an aloe leaf and slice it into half. Now squeeze out the gel and apply a generous layer on the affected area. This has to be done at least twice a day for the spots to lighten. Drinking aloe juice would also benefit you in the same manner. Lime juice is one of the best, natural bleaching agents. Apply a thin layer of fresh lime juice on the spots 2-3 times a day, till you see the spots visibly lighten. Vitamin E oil is very good for the skin and it is also very effective in getting rid of blemishes and marks. Take a Vitamin E capsule and empty the contents into a bowl. Now gently massage a little of the oil on to the spots. This should be done three times a day, consistently for a month. This will reduce the appearance of the spots. You could also mix half a teaspoon of aloe gel with 2-3 drops of vitamin E oil and then apply this mixture on the spots. It should yield positive results as well.

Potatoes can also be used for treating this condition. Take one small potato and then slice it. Now rub the slice over the spots, for a minute. Do this as many times as you can in day, but make sure that you use a fresh potato slice each time. As an alternative you could also use potato juice on the spots. Mix together equal proportions of apple cider vinegar and lime juice. Apply this mixture on the spots twice a day. This remedy is also considered to work wonders.
