Skin whitening using home treatments and skin care tips
A lot of people crave fairer skin. More than fair skin, though, a lot of people crave skin that is evenly toned. You mention that your skin is much darker on the areas like your face, hands and legs. Have you wondered why the skin appears darker on areas that are exposed to the sun a lot more than any of the other parts of your body? To understand why there is a difference in the color of the pigmentation, you need to understand how the skin functions. Whenever you go out into the sun, you are exposing any open and unprotected skin to very harmful ultra violet rays that are emitted by the sun. These rays can cause very serious skin problems such as skin augmentation and cancer. This is where the defense mechanism of the skin comes in. The color of the skin is decided by cells called melanocytes. The melanocytes produce two types of pigments, which when mixed at different levels result in a different pigment. The skin creates a darker pigmentation for itself as this helps in its protection against any harm caused by the sun.
As a result, depending on how much time you spend out in the sun, the pigmentation of your skin will become darker. The parts of your body that are sufficiently protected by your clothing do not require this darker pigmentation and will not receive it. If you are concerned about the darkening color of your skin, avoiding venturing out into the sun is always a good place to start. This will make sure that your skin does not get any darker. It is highly recommended that you also wear some skin block to provide some extra protection for the skin. There are a few home treatments you could try in order to make your skin fairer, such as rubbing the affected areas of the skin with lemon just before going for a shower. Lemon is a natural bleaching agent and will considerably help reduce the dark pigmentation of your skin over a period of time. You could also try applying a paste of freshly ground mint leaves and leave it over the affected areas for about 20 minutes before washing it off with some cold water. Follow this routine for 15 days to see results. Create a mixture consisting of one teaspoon each of honey, milk powder, lemon juice and half a spoon of almond oil. Apply it over the affected areas and wash off after 15 minutes to help in the removal of tan as well as giving the skin a shiny glow.
