Chicken pox mark treatment | Scarring removal at home

How to remove chickenpox scar mark using home treatment

Chickenpox is a rather unpleasant and extremely contagious infection. Usually, it is a harmless infection, in which the skin develops blisters and itches. Most often, these blisters disappear on their own, and do not leave behind any scars. In some cases however, scars may develop, and this is usually the result of a secondary infection, rather than the chickenpox infection itself. Scarring usually occurs when the patient scratches or prematurely bursts the blisters – this often results in a secondary infection and scarring. In some cases, it may simply be a lack of hygiene at work – the blisters may burst naturally, but if proper hygiene is not maintained, other pathogens can attack the open sore.

In any case, it is now too late for you to take any of these precautions, and the only thing for skin problems like this is to get rid of chicken pox scars. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done by way of home remedies or even over the counter treatments. You can try applying aloe gel on your scars daily, as well as vitamin E. Aloe gel is best when it is applied fresh from an aloe plant, but you can also use packaged, commercially available aloe gel. Vitamin E is usually available at any medical store, in the form of an oil; simply apply this oil on your scars daily. Many people also recommend applying a mixture of honey, sandalwood powder, and turmeric powder on scars, and you can try this too. Apply the paste on your skin, leave it for half an hour, and then wash it off with plain water.

However, do not expect any drastic results from these remedies. If the scars are minor ones they may fade away gradually, and these remedies will speed up the healing process. For more severe scars however, more aggressive treatment for chicken pox scar may be needed – procedures such as microdermabrasion or laser therapy. If you are interested in such treatments, you should consult a reputed, reliable skin specialist and find out all there is to know, including whether you really need the treatment and how effective it will be. It is however advisable to wait at least another year and see whether the scars fade on their own.

One final thing that you should keep in mind is that if the scars you speak of are merely dark spots, then you have nothing to worry about. These are merely spots of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and will soon fade away by following a good skin care tips, especially if you use the home remedies described above.
