Reduce redness due to acne using aloe vera

A healthy diet is essential to have good and beautiful skin. Eating what is right for you, will always be healthy for your body. In fact, a large number of diseases today are related to bad eating habits. There is no particular kind of food or foods that can cause acne. This condition is caused by several internal factors in your body, namely hormones, bacteria, over active sebaceous glands to name a few. However, one can always consume a healthy, and a well balanced diet to help treat this condition. Acne is nothing but an inflammation of the skin, and just like all other skin irritations, it requires a strong immune system and a healthy diet to heal. You need to include a lot of fresh fruits and green vegetables into your daily diet regime. Fruit juices are also helpful. A salad with your meals is also recommended. Ensure that your body is constantly hydrated by drinking sufficient amount of water daily.

Aloe vera is a type of a succulent plant, which has also been termed as medicinal aloe. A succulent plant is one that stores water in its stem, roots or leaves, giving them a swollen or fleshy look. The plant has found a place in herbal medicine for centuries now. It has been used in treating various kinds of skin ailments such as cuts, burns, wounds and so on. Aloe has gained wide popularity on account of its moisturizing, healing and soothing properties. It has also been found to be an immune booster and an anti inflammatory, thus facilitating the regeneration of skin. Although aloe cannot prevent acne, it can be used to treat it effectively, particularly to reduce redness, inflammation and scars. You can have the juice as well as apply the gel to fight your acne. Have half ½ a cup of aloe vera juice daily. It will help flush the toxins from your body. Alternatively, soak a small cotton ball in some aloe juice and dab in gently on your acne. It will help reduce the irritation as well as any previous acne scar.

You could also squeeze the juice out directly from the leaf itself and apply the thick aloe gel on your face directly. Let the application stay on for 15 minutes and they rinse it off. Lastly, never pick on a pimple, however large and ugly it may be. This may cause a further infection and furthermore it may leave a scar that may not be easy to get rid of pimples.
