Natural acne scar remedies using cucumber

Acne scars are the marks that are left behind on the skin, after the acne has been cured. Acne is a common and chronic skin disorder. It is caused due to an inflammation of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands that are present on the skin. Acne is normally found on areas of the body such as the face, back, chest, neck and shoulders. This condition can be brought about due to a large number of reasons, such as; stress and anxiety, improper eating habits, hygiene, pollution, chronic constipation and so on. There are several home remedies however, that can help in lightening the scars left behind by severe acne breakouts. Tomato juice is considered to be a very effective remedy for getting rid of acne scars. It contains antioxidants that help in preventing and reducing skin damage. Cut a tomato into half and rub one half on to the marks. Let the application stay on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off with some warm water. This treatment will help in reducing open pores and marks. It is particularly recommended for oily skin.

Cucumber is also good for the skin. It has a cooling effect on the skin and hence soothes inflamed and irritated skin. Apply a liberal quantity of the juice on the affected area and let it air dry naturally. After about 15 minutes, rinse it off with cold water. As an alternative, one could also mix equal proportions of tomato juice and cucumber juice with some water to form a thick paste. The mixture can then be applied onto the face, and washed off after 20 minutes. This will yield excellent results as well.

Lavender oil and rosehip seed oil both contain a large quantity of essential fatty acids. You can either apply any one of the oils on the scars or a combination of both, in order to lighten face scars. If you choose to combine these two oils then, mix an equal amount of the two, and apply it 3-4 times day. This treatment, if performed consistently will help in reducing the scars considerably. Lemon juice can also be used for treating dark spots. Dab a clean cotton ball in fresh lemon juice and then apply it on the affected area. After leaving it on for 15 minutes, wash it off with cold water. If you resort to using this remedy, then make sure you do not go out into the sun immediately after the application.
