Skin cleansing products for deep cleaning
There are many different opinions on whether to use hot or cold water when cleansing your skin. The question is not simply limited to what the temperature of the water should be, but also when a particular temperature of water should be used during the cleansing process — before or after. A few people recommend using hot water both before and after, however this is not advisable. Extreme temperatures are not good for the skin and should be avoided; for the same reason, extremely cold water should also be avoided. In general, most people are of the opinion that warm water should be used before applying the skin cleansing solution or mask. This is thought to open up the pores, thus allowing for “deep cleansing”. When the pores open with the heat, any dirt, dead skin, and sebum that has accumulated in the pores can be removed, thus cleaning the skin more effectively. In addition, many people recommend using cold water at the end of the cleansing – this has the opposite effect to that of warm water. Cold water causes the pores to tighten and shrink, thus giving the skin a smoother, clearer appearance. This method has come to be widely used with great success.
However, it is important to note that some experts recommend using only regular water, both before and after cleansing. According to them, both hot and cold water can damage the blood vessels that are close to your skin, and should therefore be avoided. While this is true, it is unlikely to happen with water that has been only slightly warmed or cooled. As mentioned earlier, it is extreme temperatures that should be avoided. At the same time, the expanding and shrinking of pores works more in theory than in practice, and you may therefore be much safer using regular tap water or lukewarm water. Regular cleansing and exfoliation is usually enough to ensure that dead skin cells and sebum do not clog the pores, and it is not really necessary to use warm and cold water to open or close them.
Finally of course, you should see what works for your skin. Remember that this also includes choosing a suitable cleanser for your skin, and finding a suitable frequency. Using a cleanser that is too harsh or cleansing your skin too often will do more harm than good, and should of course be avoided.
